The "Bad Bills" are the bills we wanted to ensure did not become law. Since some of them did, we will punish legislators who helped pass the Bad Bills in the 2022 election. The Bad Bills are:
1) HB 2095 - Adds unlawful assembly to racketeering laws, aims to punish protesting (Lepak (R), Daniels (R))
2) HB 2215 - Seeks to punish assembly in public right-of-ways and limit where people can walk or gather (McDugle (R), Weaver (R))
3) HB 1674 - Suppresses almost any form of peaceful protest. Makes organizations liable for the acts of their "members" would be very oppressive (West (R))
4) HB 1754 - Anyone who delays or obstructs any public officer in the discharge of any duty could be guilty of a felony with two years in prison and $2,500 fine (Hardin/Weaver (R))
5) HB 1822 - Excessively strict restrictions on activities in and around the Capitol building (McBride (R))
6) HB 2273 - Makes it a felony to record an officer with personally identifiable information with the intent to threaten or harass them (West, J (R))
7) SB 6 - Prohibit people from using electronic devices to publish "personally identifiable info" of police officers "with the intent to threaten or harass or cause emotional distress" (Rosino (R))
8) SB 560 - Applies castle laws (stand your ground for your home) to cars and protests. People will be permitted to run over protestors and escape legal liability or criminal charges (Dahm (R)/West (R))
9) SB 806 - Raises penalties on assaulting an officer, add penalties for riots (Weaver (R), Worthen (R))
10) HB 1643 - Prohibits people from posting information about public officials (Humphreys (R), Bullard (R))
11) SB 119 - Creates permitting process for gatherings around State Capitol, permits have costs and liability assumptions. (Russ (R), Allen (R))
